How to add add a multi unit property

When adding a property in Arthur you are creating the asset which contains your rent-able unit. A multi unit property is where your number of  units are greater than 1 and are all under one roof. This asset could be;

  • Block in which the flat/s (rent-able unit) sits
  • House/flat in which the rooms (rent-able unit) sit

*This shows for illustrative purposes residential units but the same applies to commercial units

Adding a multi unit property

IMPORTANT: When adding the property you will need to

1.define the number of rentable units

2.tick whether you manage the property that the units are in (without ticking the box you will not have access to all functions to manage the property, so make sure this box is ticked)

**On the next page you can add details to the units

  • Name of units e.g Flat, Room, shop etc
  • Assigned manager
  • Owner/s * Each unit can have separate ownership’s
  • Agents
  • Add an extra unit if you forgot one

When renaming keep the brackets e.g {01} or {a}. If {01} is entered, the units will be shown in numerical order e.g 1,2,3,4,5 and if {a} is entered, units will be shown in alphabetical order e.g a,b,c,d,e. this will be subject to the number of units you have.

Make sure you do not use “(01)”, as these brackets will not work. the word “unit” does not need to be in brackets and will  change when renamed. Once you are happy with the changes click on “apply all” and it will apply to all of your unit references.
