How to publish single lets and shared accomodation to the portals

This article is linked to how to  Sync to the portals

This article looks at:

  1. Publishing information of single let houses and flats
  2. Publishing information on Shared accommodation

1. Publishing information of single let houses and flats

Step 1 – add images

Add images to unit>summary

When adding an image for Certificates do not add as a PDF.  This can be a PDF, but the portals (Zoopla/Rightmove/Facebook) won’t display it… as it needs to be an image. An alternative is that the customer generates their own using this. It generates an image based on the entered values, then this can be added to the images, and therefore the portals.

Step 2 -add unit information

Fill in all the information. Anything with an “asterisk”  is the minimum requirement

Facebook only accepts a monthly price for rent, they have said that this wasn’t going to change. If you add a weekly rent it will get converted to monthly

3. Publishing shared accommodation:

Step 1- Add images as above

Step 2 – add unit information

Each of the portals deals with shared accommodation differently,

  1. Rightmove and Zoopla use the field in Arthur called ‘Total Sharing Tenancies’ to identify shared accommodation which will be generally set to N/A and needs to be >1 for shared accommodation
  2. Facebook does not use  ‘Total Sharing Tenancies’ but requires a description of the accommodation being advertised

Zoopla

Two important fields for posting shared accommodation include:

  1. ‘total sharing tenancies’ field is used by Zoopla to display the total number of bedrooms within the shared accommodation
  2. ‘bedrooms available’ is used by Zoopla to display how many bedrooms are available to let

Rightmove

  1. ‘total sharing tenancies’ field is used by Rightmove to display shared accommodation but Rightmove doesn’t accept any information about how many ‘Total Sharing Tenancies’, so it could be 2 or 10.
  2. ‘bedrooms available’ is used by Rightmove to display how many bedrooms are available to let

Facebook

Facebook doesn’t interpret “Total sharing tenancies” as shared accommodation so that field can be left as N/A.  The only way to advertise shared accommodation is via the description field as facebook have no other way to recognize shared accommodation

Facebook only accepts a monthly price for rent, they have said that this wasn’t going to change. If you add a weekly rent it will get converted to monthly
