Summit Management are a specialist HMO management company that provides a much-needed alternative to sole tenancies, on Merseyside, Surrey and West Yorkshire. We have decades of experience in the property management business and made the decision to specialise in shared HMO property, to make renting a lot more accessible to individual tenants.
Why did you pick Arthur Online?
We were a relatively small business when we took on our first management software package. We soon outgrew the systems capabilities and were left in the position of needing to find an alternative. We did our research and after looking at the competition, and speaking with other management companies, there was no doubt in our mind with our decision to go with Arthur.
What were your largest operational challenges before moving and how has Arthur helped you overcome them?
We were facing lots of issues with our existing software not performing as we needed it to, meaning we were time-poor and couldn’t scale the business as we were intending. We knew we needed to move systems but were worried about finding the time to move! Luckily for us, this was all taken care of by the team at Arthur who pulled the data from the existing provider and uploaded it to Arthur. This saved us hours and meant we could carry on managing the business whilst the professionals set up our account.
What features have you found most useful?
For us the Xero integration has to be the one of the best features, yes other providers offer it but I feel Arthur’s integration is far superior.
The way the software deals with tenants issues save hours for the property managers. Tenants use their app to report issues directly into the system – so the phone has stopped ringing as much. Then work orders can be raised by the property manager to deal with these and the contractors can then raise an invoice and it’s all stored correctly against the relevant records.
For the Property Owners we work for, the app Arthur provides is a fantastic tool. It gives them all the information in the palm of their hand meaning they don’t need to contact us to find out simple bits of information.
What do you think of Arthur’s customer support?
From a support point of view, Arthur has it covered with a number of options, we use the Live chat, Knowledge Base and phone support. There is also access to as much training as you can absorb through the monthly tutorials we get as part of our subscription – they are great for those new members of staff wanting to learn the system or just for a refresher. Arthur’s staff are all very knowledgeable and professional.
How much has your business grown since you started using Arthur and has Arthur helped – if so, how?
The business has grown by 300%! When we started with Arthur we were managing under 100 rooms, we now manage over 300. Without a first class software, there is no way we could have grown and continue to grow at the pace we are. The backbone of the business has to be, and is, the software.
How much time and/or money has using Arthur saved you and your team?
Without a doubt Arthur has saved us a lot of both time and money. We have found that systemising our business by using Arthur meant we could have less staff and be far more productive.
